The bipolar monoblock shell has following basic design features:
1. Bipolar monoblock shell is comprised of a factory assembled UHMWPE (Grade: GUR1050) inner liner and highly polished stainless steel outer metal dome.
2. UHMWPE material of bipolar monoblock shell conforms to ASTM F648-14: “Standard specification for UHMWPE powder and fabricated form for surgical implants”. Stainless steel material of bipolar monoblock shell conforms to ASTM F139-12: “Wrought 18Chromium-14Nickel-2.5Molybdenum Stainless Steel Sheet and Strip for Surgical Implants.” and ISO 5832-1:2007: “Implants for surgery- metallic materials-part 1: Wrought stainless steel”.
3. In Vivo, the outer surface of the bipolar monoblock shell articulates directly with well-preserved acetabulum while the inner surface of bipolar monoblock shell articulates with compatible modular femoral head.
4. The bipolar monoblock shell is available in variety of sizes with different outer diameter (37 mm to 43 mm) and an inner diameter (22 mm and 28 mm).
